save the world Male Sea Lion Threatens An Intruder | Wildlife In 360 Virtual Reality

A male southern seal lion in the Falkland Islands (Islas Malvinas) threatens an intruder, settles down, and then threatens again. Like most sea lions, the oversized males defend prime beach sites against other males and aggressively herd females that come ashore to give birth, to keep them in their territories until they are ready to breed.

The Falklands sea lion population was decimated by commercial hunters to 4% of historical numbers and has never recovered though hunting was stopped in the 1950s. One possible reason is warming local sea water temperatures, due to climate change, may be reducing food availability and the ability of females to properly feed their nursing pups.
